Simian Mobile Disco Cruel Intentions (ft. Beth Ditto) stream music favorite songs
I’ve been dying to listen to “Cruel Intentions” since word of a Beth Ditto and SMD collaboration first let out. But since that announcement, stellar Simian Mobile Disco tracks with Yeasayers’ Chris Keating (“Audacity of Huge“) and Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor (“Bad Blood“) have been released, and have both blown me away in two different ways.

Did “Cruel Intentions” blow me away? In a very special third way, it did. Beth Ditto puts away her stifling vocals and finds the disco diva locked up inside. The funny part of it is that “Cruel Intentions” would have not been out of place on the Gossip’s latest set, Music For Men. SMD’s upcoming Temporary Pleasure is three for three so far. Listen to the track here.

Which has been your favorite new SMD track so far? First single “Audacity of Huge” is my favorite. Chris Keating is too good in that.

definitely audacity of huge… i listened to that non-stop for days and learned all the words… though i’m liking the funkiness of the end of this track. can’t wait for the whole album.

I’m adoring Audacity Of Huge right now. The name-checking verses are just brilliant. I think this could work its way up my playlist soon though, it’s really, really good!

As much as Beth annoys me, this is fantastic!
