If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been building up a “Song of the Day” (or SOTD) playlist on lala.com and embedding it on the sidebar there to your right. I’ve been doing this for a few weeks now, silently. It’s time to break that silence.
Today’s (12/14/09 – I know, its late) Song of the Day is Them Crooked Vulture’s “No One Leaves Me & Neither Do I” of their recently released self-titled debut. Them Crooked Vultures is a rock “super group” made up of bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), drummer Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age), and vocalist and guitarist Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal).
I’m not entirely into their album, but “No One Loves Me & Neither Do I” is a song I haven’t been able to shake off my “recently played” playlist on iTunes. Listen to the song on the player at the top of the right sidebar, or right under this text:

Completely agree with that statement. Not a fan of large parts of the album (single “New Fang” is incredibly bland), but this is fantastic.
i love this track as well as “Reptiles”, “Gunman” and “Mind Eraser”
This was one of the first songs I got into — but I have to say the absolute first was New Fang. I wasn’t into the album much at all until I heard that one in a friend’s car. Suddenly it was like I was waking up and saying, “holy crap, this is awesome.”
This album will gather quite a cult following before it disappears.
