Arcade Fire wrote two original tracks for the new film The Hunger Games – we’ve already heard “Abraham’s Daughter,” and now we can sample the instrumentals the band penned as the national anthem of the film’s dystopic world. With some help from the film’s composer James Newton Howard, the band turned their ideas into an integral and truly epic score. The result is hypnotic – a slice of sweeping, powerful grandeur with massive, pounding drums, indiscernible choir vocals, anthemic horns and strings. Check it out.
