From what we’ve heard so far, (“Don’t Sit Down Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair,” “Brick By Brick”) Arctic Monkeys’ forthcoming Suck It And See would be dark, heavily influenced by 60s psychedelic rock n roll, and insanely bad ass. However, their most recent premiered track, “Reckless Serenade” displays a hint of that beloved upbeat indie pop that got there where they are now.
“Reckless Serenade” doesn’t consist of grungy guitar solos, or heavy repetitive riffs, but rather, a lovely ballad as sweet and lovely as “Riot Van” or “Mardy Bum,” Alex Turner sounding soulful and quiet. Suck It And See comes out on June 7th via Domino.
