The Azealia Banks cover machine is at it again, taking on the Strokes’ “Barely Legal.” This time though, there doesn’t appear to be any animosity between her and the original artist, and she’s singing instead of her usual mode of rapping. If you told us yesterday that Banks would sound good singing a Strokes song, we might not have believed you, but it is in fact today and three plays in, we’d have to recommend this one. Cast away your doubts and listen below.
In other Yung Rapunzel news, Banks is apparently going to be working with fucking Ariel Pink, an announcement which, we feel, more than justifies the constant delay and uncertainly surrounding Broke with Expensive Taste. Also, the next single, entitled “Yung Rapunzel” will be released on March 26, and it is apparently the “dark, twisted sister song to ’212′.”
