“Sunny Adventure” might be the most Best Coast-y Best Coast song title in the California band’s short history. The new tune appears on a split 7” for Volcom with Jeff the Brotherhood, and frontwoman Bethany Cosentino has promised via twitter to play this one on tour (with Wavves and No Joy, starting soon!). Get acquainted with it beforehand – “Sunny Adventure” is everything you like about the band, bright and romantic and nostalgic, with big drums and sweet, fuzzy guitar solos.
All of the material Best Coast has released since their hyper-acclaimed 2010 debut has only served to convince me that Cosentino and co. have a lengthy career ahead of them. Let’s hope they can continue cranking out songs as good as this one. Give it a listen.
