It’s been a minute since we heard anything from sunny surfer rockers Best Coast, who dropped a couple of B-sides and rarities since last year’s Crazy For You, but have been kind of quiet since. Lead by the cat loving, weed smoking Bethany Cosentino, the group just released a cover of Skeeter Davis’ “The End Of The World” in honour of our recent battle with The Rapture and impending doom (we won).
The track is subtle and acoustic, and not very Best Coast like–certainly not summer appropriate–though Cosentino’s vocals do give it that familiar California swag. Streaming below:
