Brace yourselves for another stint of rock meets rap. Frequent M.I.A. collaborator Blaqstarr has premiered the first tune from his forthcoming Blaqstarr: The Mixtape project, a song called “War Of Roses” which features socially conscious wordsmith Talib Kweli.

The song is fast-paced, with subtle hints of drum and bass in the background to raging guitar riffs that are immensely hard hitting. Blaqstarr’s vocals are smothered in distortion, the song quieting down only slightly for Kweli’s verse. Blaqstarr: The Mixtape will also feature contributions from Lil Wayne, Diplo, Mos Def and Steve Aoki. Cop the mixtape on Blaqstarr’s website when it comes out on April 12th.
