Allow us to winnow through all the mixed Blur news we’ve been getting recently, just for you! First order of business: the band just dropped the two tracks they wrote for their upcoming performance at this year’s summer Olympics in London, “Under the Westway” (which we heard an acoustic version of a few months ago) and “The Puritan.” You can follow along with lyric videos for each song – we’re particularly enamored with the notated video for “Under the Westway,” in case you want to play along too – or just lie back and bask in the classic Britpop balladry of “Under the Westway” or tap your feet along to the upbeat electropop of “The Puritan.” Second order of business: you can buy these two songs on a 7” dropping on August 6th, or you can invest in the 21-disc box set the band are dropping on July 30. Third order of business: fan or not, you probably want to tune in to Blur’s Olympic performance, which is rumored to be their last show ever.
