Words cannot express how grateful I am of Justin Vernon’s work ethic. We may not still have a proper follow-up to For Emma, Forever Ago from Vernon, but in the last two years he has put out an EP, two albums (Unmap with Volcano Choir, Relayted with GAYNGS), and contributed to a number of compilations (I can think of three off the top of my head). With no announcement of a sophomore LP, Bon Iver has most recently contributed to a tribute to John Prine, in the compilation Broken Hearts and Dirty Windows: The Songs of John Prine. You can listen to Justin Vernon cover Prine’s “Buised Orange (Chain of Sorrow)” below:

Charlotte Aitchison’s second LP is a warhead, a sonic sour bomb that conceals sneering attitude and caustic kiss-offs beneath an initially shimmering pop sheen.
