In a growing post-dubstep world perpetuated by producers like Deadboy, James Blake, Jamie xx, it’s quite refreshing to hear that Burial-like bass mixed with an inordinate amount of acid house. Yorkshire’s Blawan, with only a few singles to his name, has been able to bring that to the table.
The producer, who is also a well experienced drummer (it shows), released his debut, three-track EP Bohla today for R&S, and middle track “Kaz” is a wonderful exemplification of his music. Amidst the blaring synths, vocal samples and riveting electro lines lie tons of various drum samples, providing an even jungle like quality. Hot damn. The DJ also has a brand new mix out for FACT. Check out “Kaz” below.
