If you’re anything like us, you were disappointed with the new Kooks album. Well, we’ve got our fix. We have recently discovered a Toronto based outfit who craft catchy brit pop rock songs, as displayed on their debut self-titled EP. Jane’s Party is a four piece ensemble that merge the aesthetic of Toronto’s indie rock scene with a powerful Brit pop punch.

Opener and EP highlight “Alone Together” is a candid introduction to the band: it’s absolutely contagious with a chorus that is impossible to forget, a friendly upbeat anthem that would be suitable for your local dance rock bar. The rest of the album follows in its direction, light-hearted and fluffy, playful guitar pop, backed with three vocalists, piano and even brass, used superlatively on breezy ballad “What You Wish For.”

EP is streaming in its entirety below, and to keep up to date with the boys, check out their website. They are also currently working on their debut full length, most likely out next year.
