Nick Cave and his Bad Seeds are back with their first record in five years (Push the Sky Away) and a lead single that impressively adopts a textable vernacular, “We No Who U R.” If you were expecting a response track to Ke$
ha
or any kind of top 40 pandering, think again – Cave and company deliver a slow-burning, tenderly creepy apocalyptic waltz (“we know who you are, and we know where you live, and we know there’s no need to forgive” has never sounded so seductive). If the world ends this month, put this on with the last bit of juice in your generator and get in one last dance with your lover; if it doesn’t, Push the Sky Away is out February 19.
