It’s been a while since we heard from the weird-pop sister act CocoRosie, but they’re back with news of a new record called Tales of a Grass Widow and a lead single from it, “Gravediggress.” It sounds like the kind of song you’d listen to if you were the title character – delicate vocals layer over eerie piano runs and chords, a creepy background beatbox, and an accordion line you’d probably hear if you were wandering the streets of Paris at night. And just in time for Valentine’s Day, you get the heartstring-plucking lyric “Gravediggress, dig me a hole I can bury all of my love in.” What more could you ask for? Tales of a Grass Widow is out May 28.
New: CocoRosie: “Gravediggress”
Charlotte Aitchison’s second LP is a warhead, a sonic sour bomb that conceals sneering attitude and caustic kiss-offs beneath an initially shimmering pop sheen.
From his still-unannounced new album, featuring Thundercat, Bilal and production from Astronote.
With help from Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij and an amazing piano.
These guys would probably get along if they ever met.
Another track from Future Brown’s upcoming self-titled record.
