It looks like maybe Coldplay is trying to appeal to a more “indie” demographic. They’ve been in the studio recording their new record with the legend himself, Brian Eno, for over a year, and though they’re considered one of the biggest rock bands in the industry today, are humble enough to be putting out a digital EP.
The band already released the title track, “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall,” and have now dropped a new song with “Major Minus,” a bit of a raunchier, harder jam than anything on Viva La Vida, or even X&Y. Even Chris Martin’s vocals don’t sound the same, his lyrics more distorted and harder to recognize. Perhaps this is a new direction the band is heading in? Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall will be made available this Sunday, June 26th, at midnight on iTunes.
