New Orleans based pot enthusiast Curren$y is becoming one of the more prolific rappers in the game. Since signing with Warner Bros this past February, in a deal that will allow him to release music under his own Jet Life Recordings imprint, the rapper’s released his Covert Coup mixtape – a collaboration with renown producer Alchemist – and is already promoting his next, and first “commercial mixtape,” the awesomely titled Weekend at Burnie’s.

The tape will be almost entirely produced by Monsta Beatz, who provides the instrumentals for first single, the jazzy feel-good anthem “This Is The Life.” Check it below.

Pitchfork also points out that there will be a Wizard Of Oz/Dark Side Of The Moon-like mashup between the upcoming record and the movie that inspired it. Weekend At Burnie’s drops June 28th.
