It’s been months since Cut Copy released their first single, “Where I’m Going,” from the forthcoming Zonoscope, the highly anticipated follow up to 2008′s In Ghost Colours. Whereas the aforementioned track is highly involved in pop-rock and runs a bit sluggishly, new single “Take Me Over” displays that beloved synth pop Cut Copy is notorious for. Accompanied by Dan Whitford’s jovial vocals, it merges the familiar sounds of 80s new wave and disco pop In Ghost Colours provides, but also takes the Melbourne ensemble’s sound to the next level. Zonoscope is out February 8 via Modular. I’m stoked.
