Last year was a big year for the Ambassador of funk himself, DâM-FunK, releasing an assortment of singles, instrumentals and an 80s collection entitled Adolescent Funk via Stones Throw. Since then, the formidable producer has been randomly releasing a slew of unreleased material, including March’s disco amicable “Staying Super Fly,” and now his most recent groove, “Don’t Give Up.”
The track is a super clean instrumental, rich in funk context, heavy on piano chords and synthesizers, with a laid back beat that is straight up Funk. Attached to the track, he tweeted this message: “Just……..don’t give up. That’s it & that’s all.” Word. Listen to it below.
