Producer extraordinaire Danger Mouse and Italian film composer Daniele Lupi have been working on their Rome project for years now, but we only got to hear the first previews a few weeks back when Jack White‘s Third Man Records released a Record Store Day only exclusive. The vinyl comprised of two tracks from Rome: the White fronted “Two Against One” and “Black” with Norah Jones.

Now another White accompanied tune has surfaced the net which will appear on the Spaghetti Western inspired record, a way more laid back, soft spoken ditty called “The Rose With The Broken Neck.” The tune is more somber and downtempo than “Two Against One,” letting White take it down a notch on this subtle, beautiful ballad. It’s certainly different than the usual music White comes out with, but the lonely, heartfelt lyrics are all too familiar. Rome comes out May 17th via Capitol.
