Just in time for Valentine’s Day comes this moody instrumental jam from Dirty Beaches’ new double LP, Drifters / Love is the Devil. On Twitter earlier this week, Dirty Beaches mastermind Alex Zhang Huntai said “the title track has blood&tears all over it and is the sound of my empty self,” and I don’t think you’d press play on a song called “Love is the Devil” anyway expecting something upbeat or positive, so steel yourself for one of the saddest and most beautiful songs you’ll hear this week. We’re loving the unexpected but glorious classical elements at play here. The record’s out May 21.
