Feeling warm yet? San Diego’s Dirty Gold have released a warm, inviting piece of music in “California Sunrise,” one that invokes summertime and lazy days on the beach. The afro-pop rhythms, reposeful vocals and laid back enthusiasm recalls Beach House meets Vampire Weekend in their earlier days. The video could be a “Come To California” trailer from the 60s, occupied with surfer dudes, lovely beaches and vintage automobiles. The band have another tune called “Overboard” that is floating amongst the blogosphere, and an EP is said to be coming soon. In the meanwhile, “California Sunrise” is perfect for your next stress filled day.

You can buy the MP3 for “California Sunrise” for a dollar at Autumn Tone.

Charlotte Aitchison’s second LP is a warhead, a sonic sour bomb that conceals sneering attitude and caustic kiss-offs beneath an initially shimmering pop sheen.
