It shouldn’t surprise anyone that the first song we hear from New York experimentalists Gang Gang Dance in three years is an eleven minute long psychedelically injected screechy synthesizer jam, where amidst all the colorful, tropical madness, Lizzi Bougatsos’ indelible vocals are still what takes precedence. “Glass Jar” is the opening track from their forthcoming Eye Contact, the successor to 2008′s widely received Saint Dymphna.
The record, the band’s fifth and first with 4AD, will also feature vocals from Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor; he and Bougatsos both appeared on Spank Rock producer XXXChange’s fronted WIN WIN project. Coincidence? I think not! Eye Contact comes out May 10th in the States, one day before in the U.K.
