Guards still have a reputation as Madeline from Cults‘ brother’s band (her younger sibling Richie Follin is the chief Guard), and their music indeed has a Cults-ian ’60s pop tinge, but they’re definitely worth your attention in their own right – sometimes we think Cults could learn something from Guards‘ taste for driving anthems. “Silver Lining” is the first single from their upcoming debut In Guards We Trust, and it’s a delicious slice of irresistible, mixtape-ready pop that will have you longing for summer days and sunshine. The record drops February 5th – stay tuned.
