I’ve been split on the two tracks we’ve heard from Hot Chip’s fourth LP One Life Stand. I really enjoyed the sweet, melancholy side that we saw in “Take It In“, but I wasn’t impressed with the album’s eponymous first single, or its video.
But now that the album has leaked (whoops!), we have a few tunes to listen to via YouTube, my favorite of which was “I Feel Better”, a strings-fueled, very much Made In The Dark-like ballad of epic proportions. If you ever needed convincing of Hot Chip’s ability to still wow your socks off while slowing it down, this is it.

Really? I don’t think they’re very similar.
i think the chord progression on the Chorus is very La Isla Bonita-ish. I think the band has admitted as much
gosh, this song is perpetually getting better as it goes. and with every listen too! I can’t wait for the album to come out.
The album is fantastic! You’ve got to listen to it all.
hmm, I don’t know what to think about this. I guess I’m just waiting for the Shake A Fist’s and the Ready For The Floor’s of One Life Stand.

I like when they keep it simple when they slow down. There’s too much going on here. If you’re going to use all these sounds, why don’t you create a banger?

it’s pretty good, Take It In is still my fav track so far though, will give album a listen now though.
and i agree One Life Stand (song) isn’t that great
