Jessie Ware has one of our favorite voices in the world, so it’s cool to hear her interpret one of the world’s favorite voices on this cover of Rihanna’s radio hit “Diamonds” she did for the BBC’s Radio 1. Jessie downplays the song’s ballad-y vibe into a tender, slow-burning soul jam: in her hands, it sounds more seductive, confessional, and personal than the original. If you remember, Zola Jesus took “Diamonds” on recently too – we’re hoping for a cover by Torres next. Cross your fingers while you listen to Jessie’s version.
