Just like The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas before him, Bloc Party‘s Kele is opting for a dance floor-friendly approach for his upcoming solo album, The Boxer. The first single called is “Tenderoni”, and not a Chromeo cover (that’s the abtastic single sleeve, above).
The song is filled with enough of electro-gusto to make the room sweat, courtesy of the exuberant XXXChange (of the Spank Rock clan). Listen to the song below:
Kele’s The Boxer is out June 22nd on Glassnote (June 21st in the UK).

I’ve never been the biggest Bloc Party fan, and I’m having lukewarm feelings for this.
Lukewarm pretty much sums up the whole song. I feel the same way.
Sorry but you totally just lost all credibility by calling them “Block Party”.
This track just makes me bang my head and flail my arms uncontrollably. Nice find
this song is such a disappointment, I’m a fan of bloc party ( and a big electro fan too) but this doesn’t really appeal on any level, bring back the days when this dude made songs like ‘skeletons’ and people will probably say “yeh he’s experimenting, artists need to progress”, this is hardly experimental is it? This song sounds dated, almost generic. the vocals are cool though I’m primarily talking about the instrumental here so hopefully knowing bloc party previous form for loving a remix or thirty, someone else will do the man justice? Rant over.

I liked Bloc Party’s sound, this just sounds like another cliche electronic song
