We can now listen to “Go To Sleep”, the first offering from Lupe Fiasco’s upcoming LP Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album. What’s that you ask? What ever happened to ‘Lasers’ or ‘LupEND’? Indeed, that is what everyone wants to know. That and the reasoning behind this yank-and-tug approach Lupe Fiasco and his team have (unintentionally, I’m sure) employed to handle the production and release of the follow-up to2007′s critically acclaimed The Cool.

Like adapting a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel into film, Lupe Fiasco’s third studio album seems to be in some form of “production hell”. This new track, “Go To Sleep,” should come as a positive sign for Lupe fans, it has reportedly been sent to radio, which should mean it’s somewhat official. Also, a good sign is that Lupe’s new album, now assuming the role of the sequel to Lupe Fiasco’s groundbreaking debut record, doesn’t seem to have any indications that it will be his last. That is, if it ever comes out…
