The collaboration of English electronic greats Massive Attack and Burial has borne some interesting fruit – they’ll drop a group effort soon in the form of a two-track 12”, one side a reworking of Massive Attack’s 2010 Heligoland jam “Paradise Circus,” the other a brand new cut called “Four Walls.”
You can stream that b-side now, and it’s exactly what you’d expect a Massive Attack, Burial brainchild to sound like. “Four Walls” isn’t so much music for the club as it’s music for walking somewhere dark in the rain; it’s twelve minutes of haunting, windswept, ambient general tunelessness, with percussion that sounds like raindrops and record crackles. Give it a listen.
