With only a few weeks left until My Morning Jacket’s forthcoming Circuital comes out, we’ve had the opportunity to download the title track and hear the funk driven “Holding On To Black Metal.” We’ve now received another preview of the record with the opening track, “Victory Dance.”

The new track is straight up MMJ, evocative of 2008’s Evil Urges, with a seriously chilled out jam aesthetic and screeching guitar riffs. Jim James, with his formidable ability to sing in high and low registers, appears to be calm and low key throughout, remaining silent near the end when the rest of the band goes a bit berserk. Circuital drops May 31st via ATO.

Charlotte Aitchison’s second LP is a warhead, a sonic sour bomb that conceals sneering attitude and caustic kiss-offs beneath an initially shimmering pop sheen.
