“Everybody was in the studio getting it right, we had friends over and females getting drunk,” so begins the story of “Wild For The Night,” as A$AP told it to MTV. “I had fun that night, had fun making the record and I think everybody else gonna have fun listening to it.”

That description pretty much hits the nail on the head. It feels as carefree as Rocky does in the interview. You won’t find any gnarly/obnoxious bass drops here—instead Skrillex sticks to a beat underpinned by an easy-going, almost reggae rhythm. Of course that’s buried under some ecstatic synths, but it’s not annoying and altogether surprisingly tasteful. Long.Live.A$AP is out January 15.
