Connor Oberst and the rest of Bright Eyes – with some assistance of First Aid Kit – covered the White Stripes’ downright adorable White Blood Cells number, “We’re Going To Be Friends” for Gift Horse Project’s new charity compilation, Cool for School: For the Benefit of the Lunchbox Fund. As the title subtly hints, all proceeds from the sale of the compilation will benefit the Lunch Box Fund, which provides nutritional programs to schools in Africa.

The compilation features a great little mix of artists performing “school themed” tunes like Seattle’s Fences covering “School” by homestate heroes Nirvana. Classics by Pink Floyd, The Smiths, Neil Young and Belle & Sebastian are also reinterpreted on Cool for School.
