Christopher Owens brought a massive backing band to London to record a few songs for Lauren Laverne’s BBC6 radio show, and one of them was as-yet-unheard cut “New York City,” which’ll show up on his first solo record Lysandre. As much as we liked first single “Here We Go,” this one, with its hearty dose of saxophone wailing and group vocals, feels like an early favorite from the record. Check it out.
