“Never Seen Such Good Things” functions as the second single from Devendra Banhart’s eighth (!) studio record Mala, and it’ll also function as a perfect centerpiece on your breakup playlist from now on. Banhart and longtime recording pal Noah Georgeson decamped to Los Angeles to record the whole record on a thrift store Tascam and borrowed equipment, but don’t expect a home-recorded lo-fi vibe – we love that crystal-clear production, those seemingly endless layers, Devendra’s classically personal, darkly humorous lyrics (“if we ever make sweet love again, I expect it’ll be quite disgusting”). Check it out - Mala is out March 12.
