On November 5th, Dirty Projectors will release the new About to Die EP. Earlier today on Twitter, DP frontman and mastermind David Longstreth shared a track from the release, “While You’re Here,” an ode to a fallen friend.

It’s a lovely orchestral tune that forgoes the band’s trademark angular percussiveness. Musically, it distances itself from the material found on the band’s excellent 2012 album, Swing Lo Magellan, but David Longstreth’s singular warble never lets you forget that you’re listening to a Dirty Projectors song.
