New Drake “Shut It Down” feat. The-Dream

After Drake leaked “Over”, the first tune to come from his forthcoming debut album, Thank Me Later, here comes a less legitimate leak from 2dopeboyz. “Shut It Down” is a sultry slow jam, a market The-Dream has obviously cornered with a string of critically acclaimed solo albums, while he’s not penning pop classics for superstars like Britney, Mariah, Beyonce, Rihanna and Janet. While Drake is not necessarily out of his element here, The-Dream does tend to edge him out of the spotlight.

“Over” has just been released on iTunes and radio, but Billboard is already announcing that “Shut It Down” is Thank Me Later‘s FIRST single. So what is “Over”? They do report something that actually makes sense though — according to their article, the release of Thank Me Later was pushed up from a fall release to an “early 2010 release”; whatever that means.
