We’ve been talking about Flying Lotus‘ Los Angeles follow-up Cosmogramma for weeks now, mostly for this track right here. While Flying Lotus has been impressing me for quite a while now with his texturized and imaginative arrangements and remixes, his impending collaboration with Thom Yorke is what quickly put Cosmogramma atop of my list of albums to get my hands on.
The shining collaboration, “… And The World Laughs With You”, sounds like a deadly pile-up set to music, following an ominous rhythm that isn’t readily identifiable but markedly present. “The World Laughs…” does not reach the empyreal until about three minutes when Thom Yorke floats in. Then FlyLo melts your face off with the closing minute. Listen to “… And The World Laughs With You” below:
