J Dilla is is typically celebrated and known for his work as a producer, but much of his music that’s been released since his death in 2006 has featured Dilla in front of the mic. The latest release from the vault, “Anthem,” features both sides of the artist, as Frank N Dank joins Dilla in going over one of his own beats. Turns out, this is the first taste we’re getting from an entire lost album of his raps, called The Diary.

“Anthem” will be available as a twelve inch single on April 15. The Diary will be out sometime this spring on the Pay Jay label that’s now now run by his estate, and will feature production from the likes of Madlib and Pete Rock. Hard to believe something like this might have just been lost to the world.
