Joey Bada$$’s new song with Ab-Soul, “Enter the Void,” is not, believe it or not, a retroactive theme song for Gaspard Noe’s Paz de la Huerta-starring 2009 movie of the same name, but it’s similarly trippy and psychedelic – Joey’s rhythm is smart and bizarre, his lyrics range from classic brag-rap (“Jesus Christ and Shawn Carter are my only rivals”) to something a little more new-agey (“keep your mouth shut and keep your motherfucking chakras open”), over a sexy, old-school beat. Check it out, and let’s hope these two do a record together soon.
