You might not have heard of producer Peter Katis, but he’s manned the tables for such bands as the National, Fanfarlo, Interpol, and countless others, and now some of those bands are returning the favor by covering songs from Katis’s band The Philistine’s Jr.’s 2010 album If a Band Plays In the Woods…

The National (who played Katis’s wedding, as pictured on the cover of their 2007 record Boxer) took on Katis’s song “Twenty Miles to NH Part 2,” delivering a swooning orchestral spin presided over by tender piano and Matt Berninger’s supple baritone.
