Widowspeak evoke Fleetwood Mac’s Rumors on the cover of their upcoming sophomore release Almanac, and their singles from the record so far, including this excellent new one “The Dark Age,” have dealt with a familiar kind of angry heartbreak. “I waited in the dark with you,” frontwoman Molly Hamilton sings here, lucidly confessional and quietly accusatory over jangly, driving guitars. Almanac drops January 22 – we can’t wait to hear the rest.
