Noah and the Whale – “L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N”

British twee poppers Noah and the Whale might be the aural equivalent of a Wes Anderson film, but they’ve also written some damn good songs – their debut, 2008’s Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down, received mixed reviews, but it’s hard to ignore how good songs like “Jocasta” are. Their now third release Old Joy, is scheduled for March 2011, and “L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N” is the first single. It’s typically uplifting, sunshiney, twee – the band know their strengths, and their strengths are acoustic, twangy guitar and fiddle and Charlie Fink’s sweet, close-as-a-confessional croon. Check it out.
