Psych-dub married-couple duo Peaking Lights have a super cute baby named Mikko (whose coos were featured on an earlier single, “Lo Hi,” from their upcoming record), so it makes sense that their second Lucifer single is called “Beautiful Son.”
All awwws aside (but feel free to awww), it’s a gorgeous, intricate song that deserves repeated listens in good headphones – we’re digging those competing bass and piano lines accompanied by synth and guitar squiggles, and Indra Dunis’s voice sounds as lucid and intimate as ever. It’s a perfect, timeless, blissed-out jam for a hot summer of lying in the sun. Lucifer drops June 19.
