“Patriarchy Over & Out” is Planningtorock’s excellent new single, out on the first of August on her very own DFA imprint Human Level. The cold, yet impassioned single blasts a society controlled by men, repeatedly chanting the mantra-like hook “I don’t want to wait / Patriarchal life, you’re out of date / Patriarchal life, get out of the way.” The song’s last 90 seconds are particularly stirring with Janine Rostron injecting some genuine pain and emotion into her mantra.
