Pond, the Australian band who count among their ranks two members of Tame Impala (Jay Watson and Nick Albrook), are gearing up to release their fifth – that’s right – record, Hobo Rocket. Lest you forget, Pond dropped their fourth, Beard Wives Denim, last year, and between those two, Tame Impala’s fantastic Lonerism came out, but somehow dudes found time to record what they’ve described as a “full on, manic acid-rock” and/or “crazy fiend rock and roll” album, including first single “Giant Tortoise,” which sounds like drugs. Insane riffs, woozy vocals, crazy panning toward the end, massive drums, spacey drones – you name it, turn it up and prepare to have your face melted off. Added bonus / another lens through which to feel mad unaccomplished: every member of the band is releasing a solo album on the same day as Hobo Rocket, which’ll be sometime this spring, we’ll keep you posted.

Charlotte Aitchison’s second LP is a warhead, a sonic sour bomb that conceals sneering attitude and caustic kiss-offs beneath an initially shimmering pop sheen.
From his still-unannounced new album, featuring Thundercat, Bilal and production from Astronote.
With help from Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij and an amazing piano.
These guys would probably get along if they ever met.
Another track from Future Brown’s upcoming self-titled record.
