We understand it’s a little early for your jam of the summer, but, uh, here it is, courtesy the L.A. experimental pop troupe holychild – “Best Friends” is the kind of song best listened to driving really fast with your windows down surrounded by your friends. Even if you’re snow-packed into your cold, dark room, crank this up and let the band conjure summertime with a densely layered, eclectic soundscape sitting right on the border between irresistible pop and something a little weirder – you try to resist those handclaps, textured bell, string, and vocal samples, and the catchiest, bubbliest singalong chorus we’ve heard in a long time courtesy frontwoman Liz. The band’s releasing an EP called Tribes in March and we can’t wait to see what else they’ve got up their collective sleeve. Check it out.
