BBC Radio 1 have premiered the A-side to Radiohead’s new single, The Daily Mail / Staircase. Spoiler: the studio version of Radiohead’s longtime exclusively live beauty sounds exactly like its From The Basement live recording.
If you’ve heard the From The Basement recording, you know this is not such a terrible thing, but you can see why this song had to have been left off the band’s latest LP, The King of Limbs. Nonetheless, “The Daily Mail” will make a terrific addition to your Radiohead collection. It’s perhaps the best song they’ve released since In Rainbows.
