Brooklyn trio Widowspeak released a 7” not too long ago via Captured Tracks, which included A-side “Harsh Realm” backed with a tune called “Burnout,” helping establish the outfit as a 60s induced, dreamy rock n roll band. The group are now dropping another 7”, fronted with a jam called “Gun Shy,” one whose utter wooziness and jangly guitar rhythms make it sound like it appeared on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack. The single is backed with a cover of everyone’s favorite seductive anthem, Chris Isaak’s ‘Wicked Game.” They do a stellar interpretation of it, lead singer Molly Hamilton’s pensive vocals a perfect fit to set the mood.
