New York’s Regina Spektor is set to release her sixth LP What We Saw From the Cheap Seats this Spring, and our first sample from it, “All the Rowboats,” exemplifies the tantalizing new direction she’s taking. She’s still sitting atop the piano pop throne – her powerful, memorable songwriting hasn’t gone anywhere – but maybe thanks to the helping hand of producer Mike Elizondo (you recognize that name from his Jay-Z and Eminem collabs) “All the Rowboats” has more than a little hip-hop edge.
