Anonymous London dub-inspired DJ and producer SBTRKT dropped some hidden gems on the Japanese release of his first and self-titled album this year, but luckily you don’t have to drop cash on international shipping to hear them.
You can stream “Fried Eggs” now – it’s creepy, catchy, and simple in SBTRKT’s classic vein, with a skittering clubby beat underlying a throbbing synth pulse that takes on countless pitchshifted variations and plenty of fascinating electronic effects. The whole product is kind of avant-disco space-y, but far more futuristic than it is ‘80s-inspired.
