Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward of She and Him have indie Christmas on lock again this year: they’ve been dropping tunes from A Very She and Him Christmas since September, so the duo have probably made their way onto your holiday playlist already.
We tend to prefer She and Him’s original holiday tunes, so latest single “Christmas Day” is a favorite from the record. M. Ward’s bright, almost Vampire Weekend-y guitar backs up Deschanel’s vocals and those of her backing choir; everything folds together into an audible candlelit, snowbound family Christmas of a song. Your grandmother will probably ask you who it is over dinner. Check it out.
